Shar Karakas

Shar brings nearly a decade of courtroom experience and a deep-rooted commitment to client advocacy. She combines her background as a Deputy District Attorney with her current focus on family law to deliver both strong trial advocacy and compassionate guidance to her clients.

Before transitioning to family law, Shar served for almost eight years as a Deputy District Attorney in Alameda and San Mateo Counties, where she prosecuted a broad spectrum of cases and gained extensive trial experience. Her time in the Domestic Violence Unit, where she managed cases from start to finish, shaped a strategic, thorough, and trial-ready approach to litigation that now informs her family law practice.

Shar earned her B.A. from UC Berkeley and her J.D. from UC Law San Francisco. Her combination of trial experience, legal skill, and human-centered practice makes her a powerful ally for our clients, and she is a tremendous asset to our team.
